William Tell is Switzerland's national hero
.

But why does the story of a medieval archer who shoots an apple off his s
on's head still have such resonance today?

The legend, with its many variations, has been told and retold countless times over the centuries, and the greatest story teller of them all was the German playwright Friedrich Schiller.
To mark the 200th anniversary of Schiller's landmark work, swissinfo presents William Tell online.

The multimedia era of the Swiss hero begins here.....

Schweizer Pass und Reise in die USA:

10 Fragen, 10 Antworten. Die kanadische Maple Leaf Card (Einwanderungskarte) hilft nicht zur erleichterten Reise in die USA - es gilt der Pass des Ursprungslandes bis man nach 3 Jahren die kanadische Staatsbürgerschaft beantragen kann.

Landed Immigrant in Canada?

After December 31, 2003 you will need a Maple Leaf Card as an identity document to re-enter Canada when you leave temporarily. The card is valid for 5 years at a time.

If you do not have a card, you will need a transitional travel document from a visa office.

Perhaps time to become a dual citizen? Not much more difficult than applying for the card.
